Day 90: Mommy's Shoes

The girls have this new obsession with my shoes. They like putting them on and Paige will try to walk around in them. She's actually pretty good at walking around with one of my sneakers on. I like Virginia's taste in shoes- she's wearing one of my sassy new red wedges. She just needs to learn that one foot goes in a shoe, not both feet in the same shoe! And Paige, as usual, is trying to put on my sneaker.

Day 89: Spaghetti Night

We had Pork Chops Parmesan with spaghetti for dinner. Paige really enjoyed it- what made it into her mouth at least. A good portion of the sauce ended up on her face. But that's okay- that's why she was wearing a bib. Next time, though, we'll probably do this meal on a bath night.

Day 88: Sweet Girls

It's not very often that I get a really good picture of both girls looking at the camera and smiling, so when I get one I just have to use it as my photo of the day. Here are Virginia and Paige full of smiles.

Day 87: Snacktime at Mimi and Pops' House

We went over to Mimi and Pops' house for dinner tonight. We went over right after naps so we had a snack before playing for awhile before dinner. Mimi had a platter of food ready for snack: pita with hummus, grapes and honey butter sticks. Paige made herself at home, filled up her bowl with pita and honey butter sticks and sat down in her rocking chair with her bowl and her cup of water. I think she was a fan of the snack Mimi put together. Better than the Goldfish that she normally gets at home, I guess.

Day 86: Playtime at the Table

This afternoon the girls decided they wanted to play with their toys at the dining room table. So they took their building blocks and some books over and started putting them on the table. They had a lot of fun playing there before we made them start cleaning up so that we could eat dinner. Here's Paige with the bucket of toys in the chair with her and more toys and books on the table.

Day 85: Virginia

My sweet little Virginia looking out the window.

Day 84: Classic Paige

For some reason Paige likes to walk around with her tongue hanging out of her mouth quite often. Today she was doing it out on the deck and I snapped this picture.

Day 83: Happy Girls Outside

When I got home from work today Paige and Virginia were playing outside with Mimi. So I grabbed the camera and joined them. The girls both climbed up and sat on the cooler which is when I got this picture. It's Paige and Virginia in their fishing hats.

Day 82: Watching Daddy Grill

Ben grilled out Italian sausages for dinner tonight. Virginia and Paige had fun watching him through the French doors. Paige would stand there and say "Daddy" and "Dada" and Virginia would cry when he disappeared/came inside. They were so cute. It was nice to see after the fits they had thrown shortly before this picture was taken.

Day 81: Paige and Grandma Cindy

My mom came up today to watch the girls while I went and took my friend, Beth, out to lunch. The girls love their Grandma Cindy and were very excited that she was here to play with them. When my mom got ready to leave Paige cuddled into my mom and wouldn't let her put her down. It was really cute and sweet. Paige did eventually come to me so that my mom could leave. Here are Paige and my mom, both looking over at Virginia who was hanging out by the gate.

Day 80: Another day, another playground

This morning, while Ben ran some errands, I took Jefferson and the girls to a local playground. This one is in the neighborhood next to ours, so I loaded the girls up in the wagon and off we went. The girls had been to this playground a few times before- last year- and they enjoyed it, but now it's the perfect size for them. They had a great time there this morning. They climbed, went down the slide, played on the swings and had fun watching the other children there play. Here they are climbing the stairs up to the slide. Virginia is in green and Paige is in yellow.

Day 79: "You coming, Daddy?"

Yesterday we took the girls to a local elementary school to let them run around on the fields and play at the playground. They had a great time! We will definitely be doing that again on other beautiful weekend days. We first went down to the fields and the girls walked around a bit, but they weren't real interested- they just wanted to go up and down the stairs. So we headed for the playground. Here are me, Virginia and Paige walking across the blacktop to the playground with Virginia looking back to make sure her daddy is coming with us.

Day 78: Paige in her fishing hat

Today was another gorgeous day outside, so when the girls got home from daycare we went and played on the deck for a little while. Since our deck is in the sun we made the girls wear hats out there. They were not happy about that, but they sure looked cute in them while they wore them. We put them in the first sun hats that I could find that fit them and those happened to be their fishing hats that Mimi and Pops got them at Bass Pro Shop. Here is Paige hanging out in one of our deck chairs in her hat.

Day 77: Enjoying the warm weather

Since the weather was so incredibly nice today I decided to come home after work, get the stroller and jog up to get the girls from daycare. They seemed to really enjoy the ride in the stroller and I definitely enjoyed the run outside. I'm hoping to get in a couple of more runs outside before the it cools off again. Here are Paige and Virginia in their jogging stroller.

Day 76: Doggy!

After dinner tonight we took the girls out on the deck to clean the rice off of their clothes. While we were out there Jefferson decided to join us. Virginia could not have been more excited about him coming out, so she immediately tried to pet him as he ran by. Look at that smile- think she's feeling better?

Day 75: Let me in!

This afternoon we took the girls outside to run around a little bit. They hadn't been outside since last Thursday and were feeling better, so we thought the fresh air would do them good. They had fun walking around, and then decided they were ready to go in- so they went to the front door and tried to open it. Grandma Cindy also came to visit today and brought them Iditarod shirts from her trip to Alaska, so they are wearing those. Here are Virginia and Paige at the front door.

Day 74: Sleeping Virginia

Virginia still wasn't feeling well today, so she was very tired. Shortly before nap time she laid down on the couch and fell asleep just like this.

Day 73: I'm home!

Mommy comes home and the girls go back to eating dinner in their high chairs. Virginia was somewhat interested in her bow tie pasta with vegetables, or really just the sausage in it.

Day 72: St. Louis Cathedral

Saturday night we went on a ghost tour. We met our tour guide in front of St. Louis Cathedral. This is the view looking up at the cathedral from where we were standing waiting for our tour to start. The tour was pretty interesting and entertaining. New Orleans is a very haunted city, which doesn't surprise me at all.

Day 71: Beignets

Friday morning we went to Cafe du Monde for breakfast. How delicious do these beignets look? They tasted even better.

Day 70: Eating at the adult's table

On Thursday I left for a weekend in New Orleans and left Ben home alone with the girls. I guess when they're alone with Daddy they get to eat dinner at the table since I came home to this picture and a few others of them sitting at the table. Here's Paige eating dinner Thursday night.

Day 69: How sweet are these two?

This afternoon Virginia and Paige were playing in the window again- their new favorite place. It's not very often that they're close enough together and facing the same direction so that I can get good pictures of the two of them. Today they were sitting in the perfect position for pictures together, so I snapped a few. Here is my favorite. They were cuddling up together and kept bringing their heads together. How sweet are these two?
Virginia and Paige
I am going out of town tomorrow for a few days, so don't expect any posts until Sunday. I'll be in New Orleans with a bunch of my moms of multiples friends. I'll be taking pictures, so I'll post pictures for each day when I get back. Have a great weekend!

Day 68: How old is she again?

I happen to know for a fact that Paige was only born 20 months ago, but looking at this picture it appears that she thinks she's more like 20 years old than 20 months old. Look at her with her purse on her arm and talking on her cell phone. She's growing up way too fast!

Day 67: Texting in the window

The girls have found a new favorite place to hang out- in our bay window. I tried to keep them out of it but eventually just gave up the fight and will now let them play in there sometimes. I'm kind of hoping that helps the novelty wear off and they won't want to play in there anymore. A girl can dream, right? Well, yesterday afternoon Virginia had her cell phone (one of our old ones)and was hanging out in the window playing with her phone. She's so good she doesn't even have to look at the keys while she "texts."

Day 66: Happy Birthday Pops!

Pops' birthday isn't until Wednesday, but since this picture was taken today I figured we'd use it to wish him an early happy birthday! Here is Pops' with his two favorite granddaughters. Paige, Pops, Virginia. The girls would not smile for the picture and they look exhausted because they didn't sleep well last night and were up early this morning. Oh, the fun of taking toddlers out of town for a night. Happy Birthday Pops!

Day 65: Holding Hands

We went to Kingsmill for the weekend to celebrate Pops' 60th birthday! Yesterday afternoon between naps and dinner we took the girls to a playground. They had a great time playing there. On the walk back to our rooms, this is what I saw in front of me:Pops, Paige, Virginia, Ben. How sweet is that?!

Day 64: What happened at breakfast today...

What happens when Paige and Virginia wake up for the day around 5am?

Paige falls asleep in her high chair at breakfast. Poor little thing could not keep her eyes open, until I took her out of her high chair, of course.FYI: We are heading out of town tomorrow and will be back on Sunday, so tomorrow's picture will not be posted until sometime on Sunday after we get home.

Day 63: A Daddy-daughter moment

Virginia had a bit of a tough evening yesterday, but Paige was great and had fun playing with her daddy while I dealt with Virginia. Here are Paige and her daddy making faces at each other. I tried to get a picture of them nose to nose, but wasn't quick enough with the camera.

Wednesday, March 3, 2010

Day 62: Happy Birthday Mimi!

Today is Ben's mom's (aka Mimi) birthday- and what better way to spend her birthday than to hang out with her two favorite granddaughters. She had a great day with the girls and when I got home I made them all pose for pictures. I had a heck of a time trying to get the girls to look at the camera and smile and never did manage to get both girls to smile at the camera. I love this picture of Mimi and Virginia and decided to use it even though Paige isn't looking at the camera.

Day 61: Concentrating

At some point in the past few day the girls found the box that my Fossil watch came in. They love playing with it. They're constantly trying to put the lid on and ending up sticking it completely inside the box and then coming to one of us whining to get it out. Today Virginia was concentrating really hard on getting the lid on the box. Poor thing never did get it. The lid fits pretty tightly, so it's hard to get it on all the way.

Day 60: Sisters Reading

This afternoon the girls decided to sit on their picnic table and "read" books. Of course as soon as I grabbed the camera to take the picture Virginia went to get up, but I just love Paige's facial expression in this one. I don't know what is so interesting in "Polar Bear, Polar Bear What Do You Hear" that brings out that expression.
