No Internet

We are at the beach, but our beach house does not have internet access. I am posting this from a Blackberry but will not be able to post any pictures until we get back. Look for some good pictures next Monday.

Day 149: Foyer Fun

The girls played in the foyer for awhile today. They love to take a few toys down there and play on the marble floor. We used to try to keep them out of there, but it makes them happy so we let them play there now. They're pretty good about locking the deadbolt when they go down there, so we don't have to worry about anyone opening the door into them. Here are Virginia and Paige as they were coming out of the foyer. And, yes, Virginia's onesie is on backwards. That's the only way we can get her to keep them on overnight and at nap time.

Day 148: Little Photographer

Today I was using our small camera to take video of Paige and Virginia picked up the big camera and tried to take pictures. Don't worry, as soon as I took this picture I grabbed the camera from her so that she wouldn't drop it. Children their age tend to model behaviors they see, you think Virginia sees up holding the camera up to our faces to take pictures often?

Day 147: 23 Months Old

Today Paige and Virginia turned 23 months old! Only one more month until their second birthday. Hard to believe it's been that long since they were born.

Day 146: "Look At My New Onesies!"

We've started putting the girls in onesies at night under their sleepers, but we only had 4 onesies that fit them so the other day I ordered some bigger onesies for them. They came today and I came home to 2 little girls wearing a total of 8 onesies over their clothes. Here's Paige showing off the 5 onesies she was wearing.

Day 145: Wearing Blue for JW

Last Thursday a friend of mine from my Moms of Multiples message board lost her 20 month old son, JW. He had had lung problems since birth- he was born at only 27 weeks gestation. A couple of weeks ago he came down with a respiratory infection that landed him in the hospital on a ventilator. Although he had come through a similar ailment in December, this one proved to be too much for his fragile lungs. Thursday afternoon Tiffany, his mom, was told that there was nothing more the doctors could do for him and to just hold him. So Tiffany held her baby boy as he breathed his last breaths. That day the hearts of everyone from that message board broke. Today was JW's memorial service, so in honor of JW all of us women from the board dressed ourselves and our children in blue. Here are Virginia, me and Paige wearing our blue in memory of JW Blakey, may he rest in peace.

Day 144: Smiley Girls

Paige and Virginia sitting on their picnic table in the living room. And being very happy about it. Oh, and according to her shirt, Paige loves Cheerios. So true.

Day 143: Dining Room Chair Fun

This afternoon the girls decided to move a couple of chairs from our dining room into the living room. I had to help them get the chairs onto the foam mat, but other than that they did everything to get them in there. They had a great time playing with them in the living room- climbing on them and then getting down, putting toys on them and then climbing up, all the normal toddler stuff. Paige wanted to tell me all about it while Virginia sat on her chair with her bears. Of course, I have no idea what Paige was telling me...

Day 142: "Everybody Climb on Mommy"

"Everybody Climb on Mommy." That's what Ben told them and, for once, they actually listened. I laid down on the floor to get something from under the couch and Ben said the words and they were all over me. Virginia (in purple) climbed right onto my back and Paige (in pink) hesitated a little, but then climbed on with Virginia. That'll teach me to lay down on my stomach on the floor!

Day 141: Those Eyes

Paige fell asleep on the couch shortly before nap time. I took a couple of pictures of her and then Virginia said, "More, more," so we had a little photo shoot. This is one of my favorites from the shoot because it really shows off Virginia's beautiful blue eyes.

Day 140: Snack at Mimi and Pops' House

Today after daycare the girls and I went to Mimi and Pops' house for dinner. Mimi had a snack ready for the girls, so we went out on the deck for them to have their snack. They loved sitting in their elephant chairs eating at the table Mimi brought out for them.

Day 139: Bathtime Fun!

I took some pictures of the girls during their bath tonight. For some reason I've never done that before- probably because Ben and I are too busy bathing them to worry about pictures. I just let them play in the tub a bit and took pictures of them. I could not get Paige to look at me when I took pictures, but at least Virginia looked at me and smiled for this one. These girls love their baths and cannot wait to get into the water and play. We bathe them in laundry baskets so that they each have their own personal space. Before long, though, we won't be able to do that anymore because their legs will be too long!

Day 138: Up

This was Paige this afternoon between daycare and dinner asking me to pick her up. How could I say no to that face?

Day 137: Lounging

Virginia made herself comfortable on her couch (and her sister's) while waiting for her dinner to be made. I wish I could lay around like that...

Day 136: Kendall!

This afternoon Ben and I got to meet our friends' baby, Kendall. Kendall is 10 weeks old, but was born 9 weeks early. She's stinking adorable! She was enthralled with Ben and his glasses (she hasn't hung out with people wearing glasses before). We had a great visit and I'm so glad Kendall's parents finally let us meet her. I look forward to hanging out with her a lot more in the future. Here she is staring at Ben while he talks to her.

Day 135: Yard Sale

Today we had a yard sale at Ben's parents' house. This is what it looked like once we got everything set up- and after our first sale (a tv!). The sale went alright, but unfortunately we didn't have many people come by who wanted baby girl clothes, so we still have a boatload of them in our basement.

Day 134: Watching Mimi Leave

Mimi came over this morning to play with the girls while Ben and I got stuff ready for tomorrow's yard sale. This is Paige and Virginia (in their new sun hats) watching from the deck as Mimi left.

Day 133: Hanging Out in a Big Girl Chair

Paige watching me wash dishes last night.

Day 132: Happy Girls

Paige and Virginia spent a little time sitting on the end table this evening. They know they're not supposed to sit up there, just like they're not supposed to play with the lamp, but that doesn't stop them. And they, especially Virginia, are very happy about doing things they're not supposed to do.

Day 131: Sisters Laughing

Virginia and Paige having a little moment of shared laughter between sisters this evening.

Day 130: Silly Girls

I was getting clothes out this morning for the girls, but they found their Halloween costumes in the closet and wanted to wear those. So I let them. During the day I put them on and they took them off, I put the opposite ones on them and they took them off. They spent a decent amount of the day running around in just their diapers, until I made them get dressed before Daddy got home. Silly, silly girls. When I took this picture Virginia was the monkey and Paige was the penguin.

Day 129: Mother's Day!

All of the moms and the littlest family members from our Mother's Day lunch today.
Virginia, Mimi, Mommy, Grandma Cindy, and Paige.

Day 128: Storytime with Daddy

This afternoon Virginia and Paige sat down with Daddy while he read them a book- their favorite book. It's a book that Mimi made for them that has pictures of everyone in our family. They love it!

Day 127: Little Gardeners

Yesterday I took the girls outside with me while I planted a few little azalea bushes my mom had bought for us. I also had their tricycles out, which is why they're wearing helmets. But when they saw me "playing" in the soil, they also wanted to play in the soil, so they picked up the pots the bushes came out of and started putting mulch in them. They were having a great time making a mess with mulch. Here are Virginia and Paige "gardening."

Day 126: Learning to Bowl

This evening Ben got out a little bowling set that I bought for the girls a couple of weeks ago. He was trying to teach them how to bowl with it, but it didn't work very well. First he had to get them away from the pins, and then he had to try to get them to roll the ball towards the pins. I'm not sure they ever got any pins to fall down using the ball. But Paige was happy to be "bowling" with Daddy.

Day 125: Paige

Shortly before bed the girls were playing on the floor and Paige was so happy to be playing with her toys. Her smile was actually bigger than this and she was looking at me, but, of course, she looked away as soon as I went to take the picture. I think it still turned out cute, though.

Day 124: Eating Out of an Egg

Today when we got home the girls needed something new to play with, so I got out some Easter eggs that were left over from Easter that we hadn't given the girls yet. Some of the eggs had treats in them, so the girls got to have a little snack. Here's Paige eating Goldfish right out of her egg, with Virginia in the background.

Day 123: Smiling at Daddy

After Ben got home from work today Virginia made him read her a book on the couch. After he finished reading to her, she sat on the couch next to him with the book. Here she is looking up at him lovingly.

Day 122: Watching Daddy Mow

Ben did yard work today. When he came around to the front of the house to mow the front lawn the girls got in the window and watched him work. Virginia and Paige peeking through the blinds. If you look closely you can see Ben out there, too.

Day 121: Great Grandma Denick

Today my parents and grandparents came to our house so that my dad and grandpa could take out part of a wall in our kitchen. The girls did great. They were very interested in what was going on and it didn't take them long at all to warm up to my grandma. Here are Virginia and Paige on Great-Grandma D's lap reading a book.
