Day 304: Happy Halloween!

Today was Halloween, so tonight we got the girls dressed up in their cupcake (Paige) and butterfly (Virginia) costumes and went Trick or Treating.  We went to several houses in our neighborhood and then loaded up in the car and went to see the McLambs and Mimi and Pops.  The girls had a good time even though they wouldn't talk to anyone, so they never did say "Trick or Treat"- maybe next year.

Day 303: Rally to Restore Sanity

Today Ben, my dad and I went down to the National Mall for the "Rally to Restore Sanity/Keep Fear Alive" that Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert were having.  We were there with tens of thousands of our closest friends.  The rally lasted from 12-3, but we ended up leaving about 1:30 to come home because we couldn't really see or hear anything from where we were standing.  Reading people's signs was pretty entertaining, though.  We saw some good ones, including this one.  This guy was dressed as a British soldier with a sign that said, "Repeal the Third Amendment."  Our first thought after seeing him, "What's the third amendment?"  Do you know?

Day 302: Yummy Sandwich?

Paige got out her toy picnic basket and decided to chow down on some lettuce and tomato.  Yum, I guess.

Day 301: Snack on the Deck

The girls are obsessed with going outside recently.  Thankfully the weather has cooperated and it's been nice enough to get outside pretty much every day.  Today when we got home they wanted to go outside, so they got a snack and outside we went.  Paige made me pull a chair up to the table for her so she could sit there and eat her Goldfish.

Day 300: 28 Months Old

Today Virginia and Paige turned 28 months old.  We had some issues getting their picture in the recliner, mainly because they wanted me in the recliner with them, but we did get a decent one.  They're in the wrong spots, though.

Day 299: Special Treat for Virginia

Paige and I had to run out tonight to get some medicine for Virginia, so Virginia and Ben had some special Daddy/daughter bonding time.  Apparently Ben decided that since he only had one little girl to hang out with he'd let her play with his new toy- the i-Pad.  They watched Elmo on You Tube and Virginia loved it.

Day 298: Sisterly Love

These girls are so silly.  They were sitting on the step playing and as soon as I got the camera the first time, Virginia got up and walked away.  Then I came back a minute or two later and they started cuddling with each other and laughing.  Virginia and Paige are so cute and silly!

Day 297: Uncle Lloyd

Uncle Lloyd is in town for the night, so we went over to Mimi and Pops' house today for dinner and to celebrate Daddy's birthday.  Paige and Virginia had so much fun playing with Uncle Lloyd, Irie and all of their grandparents.  Virginia especially loved it when Uncle Lloyd was tickling her.

Day 296: Big Playdate!

The girls and I went to a playdate today where there were 14 children, the oldest being 3 years old and the youngest being 4 months old.  There were five sets of twins, one triplet and three singletons.  We attempted to get a picture of all of the children, but this was the best we could do- 11 of the 14 children.  Paige and Virginia were great and sat nicely on the hearth while the pictures were being taken.  The playdate was a lot of fun and I hope most of us will be able to get together again soon.

Day 295: Watching the Parade

We went to Ben's parents' house this afternoon to watch the Centreville HS Homecoming Parade that goes right past their house.  Paige and Virginia weren't real into it this year, but they did sit and watch it go by.  They also enjoyed picking up the candy with Mommy and Daddy.  Virginia enjoyed sitting with her daddy watching the parade.

Day 294: Sesame Street

Paige loves Sesame Street, especially when Elmo is on the screen!  And when he goes off the screen you can expect to hear, "Where Elmo go?"

Day 293: Ready for Halloween

Paige has her pumpkin bucket and is all ready for Halloween.  Of course here she looks like she's practicing her zombie impression, but don't worry she'll be something much cuter than a zombie for Halloween.

Day 292: Nice Sunglasses, Paige

Paige loves to wear her Daddy's sunglasses.  She just needs to figure out which way she's supposed to wear them.

Day 291: Golfing

Today Ben and I went golfing with Uncle Lloyd on a beautiful course near Mimi and Pops' treehouse in Berkeley Springs, WV.  This is the view looking down on the 15th hole- a par three where my first shot ended up on the fringe of the green!

Day 290: Irie

Yesterday Ben and I went to West Virginia to spend the night and then play golf today with Uncle Lloyd.  He brought his dog, Irie, up from North Carolina with him and since I didn't get any pictures of the girls before we left the house I figured I'd take pictures of Irie.  She was very curious about the camera.

Day 289: Toddler Couch?

We went to a cookout tonight at a friend's house.  The girls made themselves at home.  They found this great "couch" that they sat on, laid down on, ate on, just made their own.  It was the perfect size for them and they loved it.  Too bad it was actually a dog bed.

Day 288: Virginia

I just love this picture I took of Virginia today when we were playing on the deck.  Could she be any happier?!

Day 287: 2 Pairs of Shoes

Paige and Virginia love to put on my shoes and Ben's shoes and tonight Paige decided she wanted to wear my heels but was still wearing her sneakers.  She didn't let that stop her, though.  She just slipped her already shoed feet into my shoes and walked around in them.

Day 286: Ring Around the Choo Choo

Silly Paige put her Choo Choo, aka train, in the middle of the living room floor today and started running circles around it.  Thankfully she managed to do this without falling over.  I'm not sure where she learned to wear her hat like that, probably from her Grandpa Dude.  Oh, and don't even ask why she's only wearing one shoe.  She did that herself.  Watching Paige tonight made me remember a song my dad wrote years ago.  It's called, "Silly Girl."  I'll have to see if he has a recording of it that I can use to make a video...

Day 285: Somersaults

The girls love to do flips off of my lap, with my help, of course.  We were doing it tonight and they were loving it as usual.  They sit on my lap and lean backwards.  I hold their hips and help them flip over.  They're very good about taking turns, and even like watching each other do it.  I mean, look at how happy Paige is watching Virginia get flipped upside down.  And sorry about the haziness of the picture, apparently there were some fingerprints on the lens...

Day 284: Cox Farms

We went to Cox Farms for their fall festival this morning.  The girls got to go down some slides, see some animals and climb on some wooden trains.  They loved it!  They had a Kids Zone for children under 5, and the girls really loved that.  Virginia had fun climbing in the wooden train and sticking her head out the window.

Day 283: Static

This morning after swim lessons we took the girls to the playground at the rec center so they could play for a little while. We were afraid the playground equipment might be too high for the girls, but they did great with it. They climbed right up and went down the big slides. I did have to hold Virginia's hand across the little suspension bridge type thing a few times, but eventually she figured out that she could do it alone. Paige's hair picked up a bit of static as she went down the slide, but she loved it.

Day 282: Mommy's Sweater

I was gone most of the day today at my Moms of Multiples Club's consignment sale. I guess Paige missed me because I got home to find this picture and a few like it on the camera. I took that sweater to the sale last night and left it on the couch. Paige loves to play dress up, so I shouldn't really be surprised that she decided to put on my sweater. It's just a little bit big for her.

Day 281: Going Bye Bye

This morning Paige and Virginia insisted they were going "bye bye" even though I wasn't taking them anywhere. Here's Paige getting all ready to go. She put on her new shoes (on the wrong feet) and then insisted I put her jacket on her and since she unzipped it after I zipped it for her, she's also trying to get that zipped back up. And, yes, she's wearing the same shirt she wore yesterday. She's kind of obsessed with it.

Day 280: Watching Videos

The girls really enjoy watching videos on the computer- especially videos of themselves. Last night Paige sat on Ben's lap and they watched videos together from our trip to the beach this past summer. Virginia soon joined them in watching the videos. They enjoyed seeing Mimi, Pops and Uncle Lloyd in the videos.

Day 279: Our Litte Hobo

Tonight Virginia put on her backpack and started filling a pillow case with toys. She kept going to the basement door like she was trying to leave, but the pillow case was tough for her to carry. Ben was nice and took it and tied it to her broom so she could carry it like a hobo would. We couldn't get her to carry put the broom over her shoulder, but she was happy to carry the broom with the pillow case tied to it.

Day 278: Wagon Ride

Today I took the wagon and walked up to Virginia and Paige's daycare to pick them up. I had a nice walk up there while I talked to my grandma on her 76th birthday. Then I loaded the girls into the stroller and we walked home. They enjoyed their ride and checking out the scenery. I heard them talking to each other as I pulled them along. They didn't want to get out when we got home, until I told them we could take the wagon in the house with us. They love playing with it.

Day 277: "Hoot Hoot I'm Cute"

Virginia was playing with bear this evening and kept covering him up with her new favorite blanket, aka "my banket." She's wearing her new shirt that we got in the mail on Saturday from a friend of mine. It says, "Hoot Hoot I'm Cute" and it couldn't be more true.

Day 276: Watching Football

Dee and Dude came over for awhile this afternoon and watched the Redskins' game with us. Thanks for pulling that one out for us, Skins! We all had a good time hanging out with Dee and Dude, and enjoyed a yummy dinner with them. Virginia sat on the couch with Dude and Daddy intently watching the game. Paige spent most of her time cuddled up with either Mommy or Dee since the poor little girl has a fever and doesn't feel well.

Day 275: Riding a Dragon

Today we all went to the Fall for Fairfax KidsFest. It was a lot of fun! The girls got to ride several different rides, play in a moonbounce, go to a small petting zoo and ride a train. Paige and Virginia loved the rides! Here they are riding in a dragon that swings back and forth. Virginia is smiling, she's just looking down while smiling.

Day 274: Picnic Lunch

Today Virginia, Paige and I decided to take advantage of the nice weather and lack of rain, so we ate our lunch out on the deck. The girls loved being outside and sitting in the big chairs. They didn't eat a whole lot of lunch, but that's okay. It was nice for all of us to not be stuck in the house.
